You spoke... We listened!
We are proud to be officially announcing the upcoming release of PenAgenda 2.0, now with integrated
tasks! PenAgenda 2.0 will fully support Windows Mobile 5.0, 2003, 2003 SE including hi-res support
as well as SmartPhone 2002 and 2003 in addition to all previous Pocket PC versions.
The big news in PenAgenda 2.0 is that tasks will be fully integrated into the product* and will appear alongside
appointments in the Agenda view. In addition, a dedicated 'tasks' view will be added, as well as 'Calendar' and
'Year-at-a-Glance' views.

In efforts to better support our growing list of loyal customers worldwide,
Pen & Inc. Software is announcing plans to release PenAgenda and all future software
titles in several foreign languages. While this list is by no means complete,
based on customer demand, these are the first languages we will be releasing:

- Brazilian Portugeze
- Russian
To help facilitate this change, we are also radically re-vamping how we handle language-specific
text in our applications by utilizing new XML-based language files. This will allow customers
to more easily change to the language of their choice without the need to reinstall the application.
Don't see your language? Make your own!
In addition, along with this new change comes the ability for customers to create their own
language files in as little as five minutes using nothing more than a simple text editor.
Now you don't have to wait for a language to be released! Just create your own!
And if we use a language file you create, you'll receive named credit on our web site for
your efforts as well as receiving a copy of the software for free!

The beta application process has now closed. Thanks to all of you who have applied.
Those of you who have been selected will be notified in the upcoming weeks along with
instructions on how to download and install the beta. Furthermore, you will be given
a username and password for access to the beta site where upcoming releases will be posted
as well as newsgroups for contacting other testers.

Earlier today, a day that started off seemingly like any other, we were suddenly and unexpectedly
greeted with the tragic news that we had just lost another seven astronauts aboard the shuttle
Columbia as it broke apart and disintegrated during reentry over Texas.
Although this is not a reporting site, I still felt the need to personally address such news because
I feel it affects us all. However, rather than writing about it--something best left to those
who can give it the written respect it deserves, I decided to apply the skills I do have and pay my
respects in my own way.
As such, I dedicated my night tonight to creating nine tribute themes for the Pocket PC to
memorialize the shuttle, it's crew and those affected by their loss. I am making them all
available here for free download. You may also distribute them freely or post them on any
other web sites you feel would like to have them. You do not need to give credit for where
you received them. They are meant to be shared freely and anonymously.

We have just released PenAgenda version 1.1, build 1011 as a maintenance release of the product.
This fixes some minor issues and also improves the screen refresh time.

The PenAgenda/Pocket PC 2000 beta (version 1.2) is almost ready for release. With this update, users
of existing Pocket PC 2000 devices such as the iPAQ 3600 series (non-upgraded) and the Casio EM-500
and E-125 will now be able to experience first-hand what others are calling the easiest agenda available.
The beta is scheduled to be released in the next few weeks.
